Use a decorative ceiling medallion or paintable wire covers. For a clean look, tuck excess wire into the junction box.

Use self-tapping metal screws and install a steel backer plate behind the stud for added support when heavy fixtures will be mounted.

Use integral cable clamps and leave at least ¼" of sheathing visible inside the box - never let individual conductors pass through knockouts.
